Give Your Car A Facelift
Think of your car as an extension of your home, which in turn is an extension of your personal style. There are many cheap and effective ways to make your car a space you want to hang out in, even if the big stuff is out of your price range. Regardless, you can easily have the coolest car without too much trouble if you follow the list below.
1. Give It A Wash
The absolute first thing you should do is give your car a clean. We’re not saying that you’ll win ultimate cool points for having a clean car, but it can definitely help you out and give you a strong foundation for the other modifications you want to do.
2. Get A Wax
Getting your car waxed is functional and fun. Waxing your car protects your paint, prevents rust and scratches, gives your car a bit of extra protection from environmental factors, and gives your ride a nice shine.
3. Replace Floor Mats
Getting new floor mats is one of the easiest ways to spruce up your car’s interior, as they tend to see the most wear and tear. The best part is you can pick different colors, patterns, or fabrics that go with your preferred aesthetic.
4. Upgrade Your Wheels
You don’t need solid gold rims to make an impression. Getting a new wheel rim in the color and shine of your choice is relatively cheap compared to some of the other items on this list. If you splurge and get steel rims, you’re set for at least the next decade.
5. Car Seat Covers
Whether it’s for comfort, protection, or plain old fun, car seat covers definitely add a little something to your home. They are especially useful with leather interiors, as kids, pets, and nails are all prone to scuffing your seats.
6. Tint Your Windows
Window tinting blocks UV rays from entering your car, which can help with glare, maintain privacy, and keep your interior nice and cool during the summer months. You can also get them in etched or frosted glass patterns, if you feel like being funky.
7. Lighting Upgrades
Getting new interior and exterior headlights can really help with whatever mood you’re trying to set. Exterior headlights should always prioritize safety, but you can get color-changing lights for the undercarriage or interior of your vehicle. Some of them even change color to your music.
8. Change Your Horn
This DIY task is relatively easy to complete and makes for a unique ride. Depending on your desires, car horns can reflect the oldsmobiles of days past, popular songs, or cartoon sound effects.
9. Air Fresheners
There are countless ways to keep your car smelling fresh. For that classic pine scent, go for a hanging air freshener or one that attaches to your ventilation system. If these strong scents aren’t for you, you can add a cabin air filter, dryer sheets, activated charcoal, or baking soda.
10. Fresh Tech
Even old cars can do new tricks. If you have a ride that originally had a CD or cassette player, you can switch them out with a cheap Bluetooth speaker. Other great tech add-ons include a dash cam, wireless charging mounts or pads, a tire pressure monitoring system, or heated seat cushions.

11. Paint Job
If nothing else, a fresh coat of paint will do your car some good. Basic paint jobs will run you about $500, while a custom paint job or wrap will run you up into the thousands, or even tens of thousands.
12. Personalized License Plates
Who doesn’t love seeing a silly license plate while on the road? Choose just about any name and graphic you want, but be prepared to pay a couple of hundred dollars more for it.
13. Dashboard Accessories
Depending on who you are, dashboard accessories can mean adorable mini figures or stuffed animals that come with you on your journeys, or they can mean small detail improvements for your gear shift, mirrors, vents, and the like.
14. Steering Wheel Cover
Keep your steering wheel safe and give it some love, all in one. A steering wheel cover is a great way to add some color to your car, and it will give you a texture you can enjoy running your hands over.
15. Trunk Organizer
Often, people forget that a cool car is a clean car - and the trunk is no exception. A trunk organizer will keep the rest of your car from becoming a walking storage bin, and will make anything you need accessible in a flash.
16. Add A Spare Tire Cover
If you have an exterior spare tire, a cover is important for keeping your tire protected - but that doesn't mean it can’t be fun! Many folks will get t-shirts of their favorite bands or sports teams, or you can make a custom one to fit your acquired tastes.
17. Add A Step
If you have a large vehicle, such as a truck or a massive SUV, you may want to consider installing a step for easy access. This will also seem like your car is of a higher caliber than it is, as car steps are often only seen in more expensive models.

18. New Centre Console
You may be paying upwards of several hundred dollars, but you can fully replace your vehicle’s centre console if you so choose. Maybe you want something with more cupholders, more organizational space, or something that just looks cool.
19. Upgrade Your Emblem
You can add a touch of personality to your car by playing around with the emblem. You can either clean or replace your current emblem with something similar, or feel free to add a logo of your sports team, home country flag, or even the Batman logo, if you so choose.
20. Jazz Up The Exterior
There are countless ways to make your car's exterior look cooler and/or more polished. Fender flairs, hood protectors, grills, spoilers, and fuel doors are all small parts of your ride that can easily be replaced to fit exactly what you want.
